ini karena wabah Covid-19 dan memutuskan untuk menyumbangkan Rs 5 lakh
ke organisasi,” kata Arun Anand, kepala sayap media RSS Indraprastha
Vishwa Samvad Kendra (IVSK).
“Wanita
itu ingin agar uang ini digunakan oleh organisasi layanan masyarakat
Sewa Bharati untuk orang miskin dan yang membutuhkan di Jammu dan
Kashmir. Dia telah menabung jumlah ini untuk melaksanakan haji, rencana
yang dia tangguhkan karena situasi saat ini,” kata Arun Anand.
“Khalida
Begum ji adalah di antara beberapa wanita pertama di Jammu dan Kashmir
yang mendapatkan pendidikan dalam bahasa Inggris di sebuah biara. Dia
adalah menantu Kolonel Peer Mohd Khan, yang adalah presiden Jana Sangh,”
katanya.
Jana Sangh juga merupakan rekan RSS dan kemudian menjadi Partai Bharatiya Janata.
Arun
Anand mengatakan meskipun usianya sudah lanjut, dia sangat aktif dalam
pekerjaan kesejahteraan bagi para wanita dan orang-orang yang tertindas
di Jammu dan Kashmir.
Putranya, Farooq Khan, seorang pensiunan perwira IPS, saat ini melayani sebagai penasihat Gubernur Letnan Jammu dan Kashmir.
